Alternative Therapies

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine that has been used in healing for thousands of years. This, safe, non-invasive alternative therapy encourages the body to heal itself or produce a healing response.

Very fine, sterile needles are inserted into the skin and underlying tissue at specific locations on the body, known as “points” to stimulate a response. Each point stimulates a physiological effect. This can include: relieving muscle spasms, increasing blood circulation, stimulating nerves and a release in certain hormones.

Acupuncture can be used to help treat a variety of conditions including: arthritis, weakness, degenerative joint disease, osteoarthritis, neurologic diseases and much more.

Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is another non-invasive, safe and painless treatment that can be used on its own or along with conventional treatment.

You may imagine a hot-red light, but laser therapy utilizes light on a very low setting to promote and stimulate the healing process by deeply penetrating tissue without damaging it. The laser emission is a gentle, warm, soothing sensation that most-often relaxes the pet.

When laser energy is absorbed by injured cells, the interaction provides both instant and long-lasting pain relief. The release of endorphins stimulates cells resulting in faster and more compete healing.

At times, results and relief can begin to be seen within hours or just a few sessions, depending on your pet and the condition being treated.

Laser therapy can be used for: arthritis, post-surgical pain relief, rehabilitation, degenerative joint disease, torn-muscles and more!
